Gary Conway (born February 4, 1936) is an American actor. Conway was born Gareth Monello Carmody in Boston, Massachusetts. As a young man he was a talented artist and violinist. He was the youngest artist to ever win a major prize at the LA County Art Exhibition and, before age fifteen, was awarded full scholarships to three of the most prestigious art schools in the country as well as a special grant with the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science, and Art. His high school arranged his program to allow him free afternoons to attend his art schools.  The only student ever so permitted.  In the mid-1950s , Gary attended UCLA and graduated with an art history major. During that time he "partnered" with gay photographer Phineas Stuart "Pinky" Rosenberg when they met at a gym. Gary posed almost nude for various gay publications like Mizer's "Physique Pictorial" and "Body Beautiful". It was a stepping stone to his later work in film and television. His most notable credits include a co-starring role with Gene Barry in the detective series Burke's Law from 1963-1965. In addition, he starred in the Irwin Allen sci-fi series Land of the Giants from 1968-1970. He appeared with Bette Davis in the television movie The Judge and Jake Wyler in 1972. After "Land of the Giants" ended in 1970 and by 1973, Gary's career had pretty much faded away.  In need of income, similar to when he was a student at UCLA, he decided to pose almost nude for Playgirl magazine for the August 1973 issue.

Conway has been married for many years to Marian McKnight, who was Miss America 1957. They have worked together in film production and writing, and she also operates a winery.
