Irwin Allen wanted to add a real llama painted purple to the cast of Lost in Space, voiced by Richard Haydn. Jonathan Harris, costumed as celery, was attacked by the llama and refused to return to work unless the animal was removed. The part was rewritten for James Millhollin, credited as "Willoughby the Llama", but he did not join the cast. [1]
