The Space Pod was a small craft used as a shuttle by the crew of the Jupiter 2.

The Pod was a new prop added at the beginning of the third season of "Lost in Space". The upper portion of the vehicle resembled the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) that NASA was using at the time to land on the Moon. The lower portion had three landing legs. There was one hatch in the back. It was stored on the port side rear area of the Jupiter 2. The hatch that was used to access space suit storage in season one and season two episodes now led to the Space Pod.
Various third season episodes had their plots catalyzed by Dr. Smith either intentionally or accidentally leaving the Jupiter 2 in the Space Pod or accidentally sending the robot out in the Space Pod.
